God created us to know Him and live in relationship with Him. But God also gave human beings the ability to choose whether to love and obey Him.

Hell was not originally prepared for humanity, but for the devil and his angels.

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’” — Matthew 25:41

Yet The Bible teaches that rejecting God has eternal consequences.

“And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” — Matthew 25:46

Because God loves us, He made a way for sinful people to be reconciled to Him. And this wasn't God's backup plan after Adam and Eve sinned. God's plan to redeem us through Jesus was established before the foundation of the world.

“Even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons [and daughters] through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.” — Ephesians 1:4–5

As you read this, ask God to help you understand the truth of the Gospel. This could be the beginning of an eternal relationship with Him!

SIN

We have a problem?

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23

“We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment…” — Isaiah 64:6

Every one of us has sinned. We are born with a sinful human nature, and our sin separates us from a perfect and holy God. The consequence of sin is death.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 6:23

We cannot fix this problem ourselves. No amount of good works, religious activity, morality, knowledge, or personal effort can make us righteous enough to meet God's perfect standard. We cannot climb our way back to God.

That's why the Gospel is such GOOD NEWS: God came to us!

SAVIOR

Jesus did for us what we could never do for ourselves!

“But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

God the Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ—fully God and fully man—to bridge the gap that separates us from Him.

Jesus lived the perfect, sinless life we could never live.

Then, on the cross, Jesus willingly took the punishment our sins deserved. He paid our sin debt completely.

“But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity (sin) of us all.” — Isaiah 53:5–6

But Jesus didn't remain in the grave. Three days later, He rose from the dead! Through His death and resurrection, Jesus defeated sin and death and made it possible for us to be reconciled to God.

“For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” — 2 Corinthians 5:21

Jesus not only paid our sin debt by His death on the cross, but He also granted us the righteousness He earned through His holy life.

SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit comes to live within you!

At the moment you receive the Savior Jesus - you are filled with the Holy Spirit and guaranteed eternal life with him. This provides certainty of salvation. You don’t have to wonder any longer if you are going to heaven when you die.

“When you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, [you] were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.” — Ephesians 1:13

The Holy Spirit comes to dwell within you forever.

You are forgiven.
You are made new.
You are welcomed into the family of God.
You are sealed with the Holy Spirit.
You are given the promise of eternal life.

And salvation isn't merely about where you will go when you die. It begins a whole new life with God right now. The Holy Spirit begins transforming you from the inside out—changing your heart, your desires, and your life so that you increasingly become like Jesus and bring glory to God.

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control...” — Galatians 5:22–23

You don't obey God to earn salvation. You begin to obey God because you love Him and you want to grow in an eternal relationship with the living God.

We are still human and will still struggle with sin, but when you sin, you can confess it and walk in repentance, trusting in Christ's forgiveness.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9

The Holy Spirit will teach you, guide you, convict you, empower you to obey, and continue transforming you throughout your life.

The God of the universe is inviting you into an eternal relationship with Him.

Jesus Christ is the only One who can save you, and He saves completely.

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6

Turn to Him. Trust Him. Follow Him.
