Our Beliefs
At Becoming Ministries, our foundation is the Word of God and the historic Christian faith as summarized in the Apostles' Creed. We believe:
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is our final authority for faith, truth, and daily living. We do not exclusively use a single Bible translation but primarily use the English Standard Version (ESV) and the New International Version (NIV).
The Trinity
There is one true God who eternally exists as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead, identical in Divine nature and character, but varying in roles and positions of authority.
Humanity and Sin
Every person is created in the image of God and deeply loved by Him. Because of humanity's fall into sin, all people are separated from God and are unable to save themselves apart from His grace.
Salvation
Salvation is the free gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Through His sacrificial death and bodily resurrection, Jesus redeems us from the guilt, penalty, and power of sin, offering forgiveness, new life in Christ, and the promise of eternal life for all who trust in Him.
The Church
We believe in the one universal Church, the body of Christ, made up of all believers in Jesus Christ. God calls His people to worship together, grow in discipleship, encourage one another, live in unity, and faithfully share the Gospel as we make disciples of all nations.
Our Hope
We eagerly await the personal return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the fulfillment of God's promise of eternal life with Him forever.
The Apostles’ Creed
“I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; on the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the one holy church both visible and invisible, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.”
Discipleship
We believe every follower of Jesus is called to continually grow in the knowledge and likeness of Jesus Christ through God's Word, prayer, the work of the Holy Spirit, authentic Christian community, and obedience to His commands.
This lifelong process of spiritual transformation is at the heart of Becoming Ministries. We have not "arrived" or "become." As long as we are on this earth, we will all be becoming more like Christ.
“. . . Every creature is continually becoming. It is changeable, constantly striving, seeks rest and satisfaction, and finds this rest in God, in Him alone, for only He is pure being and no becoming. Hence, in Scripture God is often called the Rock.”
